She was predeceased by: her parents, John D. Springstead and Mary Baldwin Springstead; her husband Fred Lee Howell, Jr.; her brothers, Frank and Chan Springstead; and her son-in-law John R. Cockrell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Debbie Cockrell of Concord and Sharon Lee Bensch (George W.) of Acampo, CA; and her grandchildren, Scott, Katie, Laura, Greg, Freddy and Rob. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
