He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter E. Dabbs and Dora McSwain Dabbs; and his daughter Angie Dabbs. He is survived by: his wife Betty Dabbs; his children, Terry Dabbs and Kim (Chip Harward); his grandchildren, Jazmin and CJ Harward; and his siblings, Pete, Hoyle Dabbs and Kathryn Yokley.
