He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ralph and Margaret Whitley Barbee; his wife Linda Gail Brown Barbee; his stepdaughter Deanna Leigh Barbee; and also Vickie Barbee Benton.
He is survived by: his daughters, Leslie Beth Barbee McCready (Tracy) of Concord and Kimberly Jo Barbee Gordon (John) of Concord; his siblings, Harry Lee Barbee, Beverly of Kannapolis, Bobby Ralph Barbee (John Henry Barbee) of Charlotte and Doris Barbee Benton of Concord; and his grandchildren, Matthew McCready, Nicolas McCready, Kayla Mercuri (Matthew), Johnny Gordon (Skyler), Jarrett Gordon and Jessica Gordon.
