He is survived by: his wife Doris Barbee Benton of Concord, NC; and his children, Cynthia Forbis (John), Crystal Benton-Wise (Perry), Danny O'Brien Benton (Tamera) and Hospice of Kannapolis. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren, and one great- great- grandchild.
