He was predeceased by: his parents, William Luther Coleman and Cora Belle Springer Coleman; his wives, Margie Tucker Coleman and Shirley Britton Coleman; and his siblings, Virginia Beaver, Ruth Austin, Willie Maxwell, Mary Smith, Margie Coley, Faye Tucker, Mae Blackwelder and Bill Coleman.

He is survived by: his daughters, Retha A. Coleman and Lisa C. Hinson (Bill); his grandson Adam Hinson; his great grandchild McKenzie Hinson; his stepson Terry Britton (Heather); his stepgrandchildren, Amanda Britton and Morgan Mulchi (Adam); and his siblings, Martha Earnhardt, Bob Coleman and W. L. Coleman Jr..

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in memory of Mr. Coleman to the donor's choice of charity.
