He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee J. Helton and Daisy Mae Gadd Helton; his daughter Mary Jac Williams; his brothers, Billy Helton and Jimmy Helton; and his sister-in-law Montez Helton.
He is survived by: his children, Sheri Pressley (Dennis), Joel Helton Jr. (Kay) and Dede Wishon (Dennis); his grandchildren, April Helton, Matthew Helton, Meredith Wolfe, Enid Valu, Bryan Folds, Sarah Wishon, Chase Bryant and Josh Williams; and his siblings, Barbara Mullis (Bill), David Helton (Kathy), Linda Helton Furr (Fred) and Joanne Helton Rowell (Mick). He is also survived by great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
