He was predeceased by: his wife Virgene Marie Hughes; his parents, Mason Hughes and Pearl Hughes of Sadieville, KY; his siblings, Clyde Hughes (Pauline) of Clinton, KY and Edith McGuire (Lynn) of Dayton, OH; his brother-in-law Gano Fields of Lexington, KY; and his son-in-law Larry Stimpert of Bladensburg, OH..
He is survived by: his sister Lorraine Fields of Lexington, KY; and his children, Stephanie Stimpert of Bladensburg, OH, Bruce Hughes (Kay) of Mansfield, OH, Sondra Booth (Gordon) of Kannapolis, NC, Michele Hughes of Concord, NC and Denise Abner (Hal) of Hampton, VA. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and their spouses; 31 great- grandchildren and one on the way; 2 great- great grandchildren.
