He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Gail Hampton and Jimmy Roger Johnson; his grandmother Pearline Hampton; his uncle Donald "Freddy" Hampton; and his aunt Arbutus "Abby" Muhammad.
He is survived by: his wife Robin K. Hampton; his daughters, Denalicia Kirk (Concord) and Denisha Kirk (Charlotte); his grandsons, Jah and Jaden Alexander; his uncles, Charles "Pete" Hampton and Billy Brown; his aunt Sue Hampton; and his siblings, Jamie Hampton, Robin Hampton and Timothy Hampton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
