She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry and Sarah Cleonia Burris Furr; her husband J. V.; and her siblings, Floyd Monroe Furr, Joseph Adam Furr, Leonard Ramson Furr, Daniel Timothy Furr, John Paulie Furr and Beatrice Mae Furr.
She is survived by: her daughter Mildred Rosetta Liles West (Edward); her sisters, Trullie Belle Furr Smith of Albemarle, Hazel Marie Furr Little of Locust and Sarah Jane Furr Little of Albemarle; her close friend Ann Nicholson Bowen of Elm City; her children, Nick Bowen and Louann Bowen Lester (Michael) of Elm City; and her grandchildren, Grace Lester Torres (Pedro) of Elm City and Bowen Lester of Raleigh. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
