He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Kerns and Annie Kerns; his wife Joanne Kerns; and his siblings, Neva Kerns Collins, Eugene "Bud" Kerns, Norman Kerns and Marlene Kerns Garett.
He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara Erbe (Pete) and Sandra Wall (Bruce); his granddaughters, Maggie Howard (Drew) and Becky McClamrock (Chris); and his great grandchildren, Jake and Connor. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
