He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Sue Sherrill Waters of Concord and Alonzo Jackson Waters; his wife Karen Riehs Waters of Kannapolis; his children, Brian Heath Waters (Phoenix) of Leland, NC and Chelsea Paige Waters (Tim Geissler) of Charlotte, NC.; his grandchildren, Aidan Jack, Griffin Arthur, Anderson Heath, Winston David Waters of Leland, Olivia Riehs and Timothy George Geissler of Charlotte; and his siblings, James Carroll Waters (Kathy), Jackie Waters Renfro and Sheryle Waters Brown (James). He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
