He is survived by: his wife Carolyn "Sue" Burgess of Kannapolis; his children, Tammy Smith (Eric) of Concord, Boyce Burgess, Jr. (Joy) of Gold Hill, Mike Burgess of Concord and Mark Burgess (Sarah) of Concord; his siblings, Radie Clontz of Concord, Flora Mae Martin of Wadesboro and John C. Burgess of China Grove; his grandchildren, Daniel Smith (Wendi), Mackenzie Burgess, Hunter Burgess and Maddie Burgess; and his great grandchildren, Peyton Smith and Jake Smith.
