He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Dexter Blackwelder Jr. and Fannie Elizabeth Blackwelder; and his brother Carl Dexter Blackwelder III. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Sue Blackwelder of Concord, NC; his siblings, Johnny Blackwelder of Concord, NC, June Barringer (Donnie) of Concord, NC, Telka Ritch (Beanie) of Concord, NC and Mark Blackwelder of Concord, NC; his stepsons, Jeff Smith (Loltia) of Charlotte, NC and Kevin Burroughs (Heather) of Chicago, Illinois; and his nieces, Coree Michelle Blackwelder and Maylee Elizabeth Blackwelder. He is also survived by other numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family members.
