She was predeceased by: her parents, J. C. Newman and Anna Simmons Newman; her husband Burton Peter Clapp; and her brother Robert Newman. She is survived by: her children, Alane Srackangast of Concord, Jeff Clapp (Gwen) of Clover, SC, Carolyn Sutton (Jim) of Comstock, MI and Joel Clapp (Ellen) of Albemarle; her sister Lois Schell of Tennessee; and her sister-in-law Janet Newman of Michigan. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
