He was predeceased by: his parents, Landon Rathburn and Bonnie Pittman Rathburn; his son Kelly Lee Rathburn; and his siblings, Doris Hollifield, Helen Raper, Lucille Banks, Junior Rathburn and Charles Rathburn.
He is survived by: his wife Jeannie Presnell Rathburn; his son Billy Rathburn (Penny) of Concord; his stepchildren, Allison Rowe (Chris) of Bakersville, Blake Glenn (Bethany) of Altapass and Christen Glenn of Lenoir; his grandchildren, J. R., Ashley (Keith), Christie, Mason, Kaylee, Brianna and Asher; his great grandchildren, Kendal, Paisley, Madison and Makinley; his siblings, Joyce Briggs (Mike) of Jacks Creek and Gene Rathburn (Frances) of Concord; and his brother-in-law Buster Raper of Candler.
