It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Zoretta Johnson (Concord, North Carolina), who passed away on January 15, 2019, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Zoretta Johnson to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Mitchell and Ossie Mitchell; her husband Sammie L. Johnson; and her siblings, Pauline Mitchell, Janace Garvin (Huey), Preston Mitchell (Betty), Ernest Mitchell and Eugene Mitchell (Cynthia).
She is survived by: her children, Rita Johnson-Harvey of Princeton Junction, NJ and Sammie L. Johnson, Jr. of Laurel, MD; her grandchildren, Jasmine Harvey, Jermaine Harvey, Jr. and Jordan Harvey; and her sister Annie Mitchell Royal (Albert) of Piscataway, NJ. She is also survived by close friends, stressed the importance of family and education to her children and grandchildren.
Subsequently, she was employed by Hackney's Restaurant, Consolidated Laundries, the American Red Cross Blood Donation Center, and finally the City of Atlantic City, where she was a member of the Atlantic City Police Department (ACPD) until her retirement.
