It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jack Durant Abernethy of Conover, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on September 18, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Clark and Sydnie Lominac Clark; his son Sidney Abernethy; and his great grandchild Mason Abernethy. He is survived by: his wife Nellie Eckard Abernethy; his daughter Karen Reinhardt (Bobby) of Conover; his daughter-in-law Denise Abernethy of Hickory; his grandchildren, Ashley Huffman of Bobby Reinhardt, II, Derek Abernethy and Robbie Winters; and his great grandchildren, Landon Huffman, Brooke Huffman and Sydnie Abernethy.
