It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mava Kirksey Johnson (Conover, North Carolina), born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on January 1, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sid Sivvoy and Mertie Clemmer Kirksey; and her husband Morris Johnson. She is survived by: her sister Myrtle Best of Dallas; her children, Jeanette Fairbanks (Clyde) of Yulee, FL and Vaughn Johnson of Newton; her grandchildren, Charles Fairbanks, Michelle Curtright and June Vance; her great grandchildren, Nathan, Kari, Catherine Mava, Jake, Kaylyn and Natalie; and her pet Susie.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
