He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Lee and Nelda Ocola Smith Hefner; his wife Betty Sue Hefner; and his brothers, Wayne and Tommy Hefner.
He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa Gray (Donald) and Tammy Houston (Will); his siblings, Clifford Hefner (Ruby), Colleen Lafone, Nancy Campbell (Steve), Judy Norton (Tommy), Earlene Cheung and Jeraldine Childers; and his grandchildren, Brittany Huffman (Christian), Jonathan Gray (Lindsay), Brooke Houston, Katie Houston, Danielle Gray and Allison Houston. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren.
