She was predeceased by : her parents, John Wilson Thompson and Alma Jones of Virginia; her children, Kim Whitfield and Wayne Whitfield Jr.; and her siblings, Jackie Gupton and Joey Thompson.

She is survived by : her husband Wayne Whitfield Sr.; her granddaughter Jordyn Whitfield of Creedmoor; her siblings, Janice Belangia of Stem and J. W. Thompson of Butner; and her daughter-in-law Paula Dixon Whitfield. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews and friends.
