She was predeceased by : her parents, Delbert B. Spell and Glennie Lester; her former life partner W. H. Smith; and her husband James L. Watkins. She is survived by : her children, Deborah Smith Pulley of Norlina, Lisa Smith Willis of Norlina, Stanley Smith of Stem and Kenneth R. Smith of Stem; and her siblings, Carol Medlin of Butner and Donnie Spell of Dunn. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren.
