He was predeceased by : his parents, Raymond R. Smithwick and Edna E. Smithwick; his wife Hazel "Bea"; and his sister Virginia Lester. He is survived by : his daughters, Edna Smithwick, Bonnie Layden (Ernest R.), Susie Isham (Howard), Cathy Yates (Dennis), Ava Deal (Jimmy) and Teresa Wilson.
