Golfing is not a matter of life or death…It's more important than that!" These are words that Kenneth Wayne Gamble, 77, lived by before he passed away peacefully on October 29, 2018 with his family by his side. Kenneth was born August 21, 1941 in Madison County, AL to the late Joe and Ruth (Pierson) Gamble. He was an avid golfer who spent as much time on the golf course as he could. He was a member of the Gaston Seniors and was the Gaston County Amateur Champion in 1982 and runner up several years. Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Army and will receive Military Honors at the graveside. Kenneth loved the Lord and loved to sing. His family will always remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of sixteen years, Sue Gamble of Dallas, NC; children, Richard Gamble and wife, Heather of Lincolnton, NC, Paul Gamble and wife, Sheila of Shelby, NC, daughter, Caroline Griggs of Kings Mountain, NC, step son, Keith Smith of Kings Mountain, NC and step-daughter, Michelle Martin and husband, Robert of Cramerton, NC; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings, Charlie Gamble of Lowell, NC, Billy Gamble of Inman, SC, Katherine Chapman of Smyrna, SC, Diane Tilton of Belmont, NC, Jean Crowley of Cumberland, Rhode Island; twenty-three nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hannah Gamble; brothers, John (Buddy) Gamble, Raymond (Eddie) Gamble, sisters, Betty Bobo, Caroline Gamble and Lucy Sizemore. A Celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 2, 2018 at Dallas Funeral Home (Carothers) in Dallas, NC. Pastor Dennis Garland will preside. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
