He is survived by: his wife Joyce Elrod; his children, Darlene Elrod Brooks of Bessemer City, Darryl Elrod of Bessemer City and David Elrod (Sally) of Dallas; and his sisters, Inez Lancaster of Charlotte and Joan Whitaker of Andrews.
