He is survived by : his wife Patricia Harding Hayden; his children, Wayne Hayden of Danbury, Tony Hayden of Wake Forest and Debbie Waller (John) of Advance; his stepdaughters, Kay McHargue and Lynn Kuzio (Mickey); and his siblings, Harvey Hayden (Marta) of Germanton and Lois East of Walnut Cove.
