With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Fred Douglas Parnell of Davidson, North Carolina, who passed away on February 9, 2021 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Oscar Parnell and Sally Farabee Parnell; his wife Ellen McBride Parnell; his brothers, Terry Parnell and Frank Parnell; and his son-in-law Buster Willis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda Willis of Raleigh and Freddie Reich (Ricky) of Lexington; his grandchildren, Beth Tennant (Charlie), Meredith Simmons (Matthew) and Johnathan Reich (Abigail Gifford); his great grandchildren, Ellen Tennant, Willis Tennant, Sallie Jo Simmons and Jack Simmons; and his sisters, Carolyn Phillips and Sarah Philpot (Larry).
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to Bethel Cemetery Fund at Tyro United Methodist Church, 4484 South NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295.
