He was predeceased by: his parents, A. W. Dorsett and Mary Elzada Dorsett; his granddaughter Tania Waddell; and his siblings, Bobby Dorsett, Peggy Swing and Mary Jo Koonts.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Gail Shoaf Dorsett; his children, Robin Frye (Terry) of Lexington, Kimberly Ree Morrow of Lexington and Chris Dorsett; his grandson-in-law Chad Waddell of Lexington; and his grandchildren, Amy Meadows, Jeremy Frye (Elisha), Chason Frye (Jessica), Nicholas Frye and Chris Frye. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
