It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert L. Avinger Jr. (Davidson, North Carolina), who passed away on June 23, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frances Haltiwanger and Robert Livingston Avinger, Sr.; his wife Jane Jackson Avinger of Davidson; his children, Mary Charles Avinger Montgomery and Robert Livingston Avinger, III (Jane Price); and his grandchildren, Findley Dean Montgomery, Catherine Stuart Montgomery, Whitney Harris Montgomery, Jr., Anna McNair Avinger, Robert Baker Avinger and Caroline Coker Avinger. He was also cherished by His brothers and sisters-in law and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
