It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley B Shafer (Davidson, North Carolina), born in Dunkirk, New York, who passed away on September 3, 2019, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank S. Butts and Julia Ann Barker Butts; her husband William Kenneth Shafer; and her son John Barger of Paris. She is survived by: her children, Ron Barger of Memphis, TN, Larry Barger of Lexington, Susan Day of Granite Falls and Julie Hege of Kernesville. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
