He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Pierce and Rosa Mae Trotter Pierce; his wife Betty Jean Daniel Pierce; his siblings, David, Thomas, Rufus Pierce and Louella Newsome; and his granddaughter Annette Walker.
He is survived by: his children, Ricky Pierce of Asheboro and Barbara Hunt of Denton; and his sister Marsha Surratt of Denton. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
