He is survived by: his parent Wade Harlin Powell of Valdese, NC; his wife Phyllis Camp Powell; his children, Charles D. Powell of Drexel, Denise P. Hayes (Raymond Presley) of Drexel and Danny Powell (Amanda) of Morganton; his grandchildren, Justin, Josh, Kirsten, Megan, Madison and Jalen; and his sisters, Carolyn Johnson (Wayne) of Morganton, Janet Branch (Tony) of Glen Alpine, NC and Robin Powell of Asheville, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
