It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Slade (Durham, North Carolina), born in Hampton, Virginia, who passed away on May 7, 2018, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Slade and John Slade, Sr.; his brother John Slade, Jr.; and his nephew Varee Slade. He is survived by: his daughters, Deana Lynette Slade-Thompson (Chris) of Las Vegas, Catina Marie Slade of Los Angeles, Traci Lynette Slade of Durham and Jamie Slade Simmons (Mark) of Durham; his stepson Timothy Perkins (Charissa) of Newark Del; and his siblings, Brenda Barnes, Phyllis Slade Martin, Rhonda Stanford, Jacqueline S. Grice (Wayne), Larry D. Slade (Izetta), Victor L. Slade (Rose) and Anthony A. Slade, Sr. (Susan). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.
