He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Jean Spearman (Johnson); his son Nils Becker of Kentucky; his stepsons, Rev. Stephen Herring (Cathy) of Tarboro and David W. Herring (Patty) of Minneapolis; and his grandchildren, Peter Herring of Tarboro and Julia Herring of Minneapolis.
