She is survived by: her sons, Vernon Thompson of Washington, DC and Muata Makonnen (Bridget) of Yanceyville; her grandchildren, Tyler Thompson of Greensboro, NC, Ilijah Makonnen of Yanceyville, NC, Jeremiah Hutchinson of Los Angeles, CA., Kiah Thompson of Los Angeles, CA., Aysha Thompson of Los Angeles, CA., Nasia Thompson of Los Angeles, CA. and Rachelle Thompson of Los Angeles, CA.; her sister Adelaide Strange of Cascade, VA; and her friends, Mozella Wilkerson, Linda Hampton, Cheryl Curran and Katura Drew. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and many extended family members, and lifelong friends.
