He is survived by: his son Christopher "Chris" Spain of Eden; his mother Ruth Roberts Spain of Eden; and his siblings, Tammy Spain Bailey of Eden, Walter "Nathaniel" Spain, Jr. (Joan) of Bryon and Thad Spain (Teenia) of Eden. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
