He is survived by: his wife Linda Ellington Watkins; his daughter Alice Combs of Eden; his mother Velma Pyron Watkins; his sisters, Margaret Walker of Salisbury, Frances Paschal, Teresa Stanfield of Reidsville and Barbara McCann of Spartanburg, SC; and his grandson Alex Wayne McDaniel.
