He was predeceased by: his parents, George Carey Swain, Sr. and Eunice True Swain; his wife Linda Swain; his son George Carey Swain, III; and his brother Jon Wycliffe Swain.
He is survived by: his children, Jon Richard Swain of Reidsville, David James Swain (Shannon) of Denver, NC, Deborah Swain Prescott (James), Holly Swain Parsons of Eden and Donna Lee Wilson (Mark) of Fayetteville; his grandchildren, Krista, Joshua Swain, Beth Ashburn, Connor, Carson Swain, Emily, Will Prescott, Alex, Austin Parsons, Darren and Brenden Wilson; his brother James Swain (Bobbye) of Danville, VA; and his pet Gigi. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
