He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hicks and Sophronia Hicks; and his wife Alma Jones Hicks. He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Hicks Loye (Junior) of Reidsville, Linda Hunt (Sam) of Cascade and Robert Hicks (Eileen) of Stoneville; his grandchildren, Bob Hicks (Stephanie), Jonathan Hicks (Wendy), Jeff Farmer, Matt Loye (Taryn), Chris Loye (Kim), Jamie Hunt (Misty) and Regina Carter (Bryant); and his sister Doris Jean Kallam of Eden. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.
