He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Barber and Dorothy Hylton Barber. He is survived by: his wife Marion Fay Lambert Barber; his siblings, Eddie Barber (Betty) of Wentworth and Janie Patterson (Joseph G. Patterson II) of Eden; his nephews, Col. Joseph G. Patterson III of Washington, D. C., Billy and Chris Patterson; and his niece Melissa Barber.
