He is survived by: his wife Mickie Warren Chester; his children, Kathy Whitehurst (John) of Eden, James Chester, Jr. (Jodi) of Eden and John Chester of Greensboro; and his siblings, Eileen Hollifield of Eden, Laura Jacobs of New York, Alex Chester of Stoneville, Edward Chester, Joseph Chester of New Jersey and Early Williams of Ruffin. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
