He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Howell and Elaine Gilley Howell; and his parents-in-law, Dewey DeHart and Eloys Washburn DeHart. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his son Shannon (Kristine) of Winston Salem; his siblings, Gloria Adkins (Boyd) of Burlington and Kenneth Howell (Susan) of Eden; his siblings-in-law, Sherman DeHart (Margaret) of Eden, Dixie Haney of Martinsville, Sandra Rorrer of Ridgeway, VA and Carol Sturgill of Eden; his cousin W. J. Mounce (Cindy) of Raleigh; and his close friends, Sonny and Brenda Wilson of Eden. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbors and his furry friend.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rockingham County Humane Society.
