She was predeceased by: her parents, Payton Blackstock, Sr. and Sallie Thompson Blackstock; her siblings, Darnella B. Worthington, Elizabeth B. Bonds and Payton Blackstock, Jr.; and her granddaughter Tarsheeka Montrelle Patterson.
She is survived by: her husband Louis Broadnax, Sr.; her children, Sherah Lowe of Greensboro, NC, Doris Brown of Eden, NC, Portia Reed (Joseph) of Winston-Salem, NC, Walter Patterson, Jr. (Vickie) of Eden, NC, Louis Broadnax (Janice) of Summerfield, NC and Kerry Patterson of San Diego, CA.; her stepson Anthony Manns of Eden, NC; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Ann Jamison, Frenzola Williams, Joe Willie Williams and Johnny Allen, Sr..
