She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Scott and Nannie Slaughter Scott; her husband Harvey Mabes; her siblings, Leola Allen, Bud, Ellis and Wallace Scott; and her stepdaughter Edna Howell.

She is survived by: her sons, Ronnie Scott and Jerry Mabes; her stepson Junior Mabes; her daughters, Dorothy Clark (John) and Phyllis Barrett (Junior); and her sisters, Rachel Haymore (Durwood) and Marie Harris (Booker). She is also survived by twenty one grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and numerous neices and nephews.
