He was predeceased by: his siblings, Brewer, Jimmy Dyer and Ann. He is survived by: his wife Betty "Bunny" Gilley; his children, Lee Schmalbach (Gary) and John B. "Jay" Dyer III (Paige); his siblings, Bobby, Richard Dyer (Wanda), Phyllis Stickels, Betty Citty, Nell Hubbard (Wayne) and Lynn Dyer; his grandchildren, Tara Peaco (Bryan), Allison Miller (Jake), Katie Kimberlin (Micah), Sarah Keller (Will), Jake Dyer, Clay Dyer and Noah Dyer; his great grandchildren, Ella, Bryn Peaco, Mia, Molly, Maverick Miller, Hudson and Charlotte Kimberlin; and his stepchildren, Dale, Mark, Robin Newnam and Jewel Newnam Van Abel.
