It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvester Lawrence Cook (Eden, North Carolina), born in Rockingham, North Carolina, who passed away on July 22, 2011, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter N. Cook and Daisy Gilbert Cook; and his sisters, Olivia C. Aheron and Loretta Washburn. He is survived by: his wife Gail Manning Cook; his brothers, Henderson Cook (Marie) of Eden, Donnie Cook (Ann) of Eden and Elon Cook (Becky) of Hope Mills, NC; his stepsons, Al DeLancy (Terri) of Hillsborough, NC and Ricky Martin (Kari) of Atlantic, NC; and his stepgrandchildren, John W. DeLancy, Jessica DeLancy, Brock Martin and Ivy Martin. He is also survived by two nephews and four nieces.
