He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Earl and Essie Copeland Lane; and his brothers, Earl and Gene Lane. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Owens Lane; his daughter Carla Lane Lamb (Vic) of Edenton; his granddaughters, Beth Moore (Brandon) of Wilmington and Katie Overton (Jason) of Hertford; and his great grandchildren, Carter Moore, Carlie Grayce Lamb, Owen Overton and Ever Lillie Overton.
