He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Ransom Faircloth and Dorothy Twiddy Faircloth Lodge; his wife Pearl Boyce Faircloth; and his son Gregory Scott Faircloth. He is survived by: his son Donald M. Faircloth, Jr. (Tracy); his daughter-in-law Wendy Faircloth (Kent Howell) of Edenton; his siblings, Michael Faircloth, Andy Faircloth, Sharlie Faircloth Twiddy and Cindy Faircloth Dobson; and his grandchildren, Abby, Jason, Rachel, Gwen and Claire.
