He was predeceased by: his parent William Walter; and his siblings, Ann Watson and Carroll Copeland. He is survived by: his parent Sally Marie Harrell Copeland; his wife Jo Ellen Hammond Copeland; his children, Misty C. Tatem and Aaron Earl Copeland (Colbi) of Edenton; his siblings, Margaret Moore (Bill) of Indianapolis, IN, Shirley Waff (Johnny) of Edenton, Frances Nixon (Tommy) of Edenton, William "Billy" Copeland (Marjorie) of Edenton and Wayne Copeland (Regina) of Edenton; and his granddaughters, Ella, Annabelle and Kinley.
