She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Henry "Dick" Byrum, Sr. and Evie Nixon Byrum; her brothers, James Edward Byrum and Richard Henry "Graham" Byrum, Jr.; her husband Lee Augustus Small, Sr.; and her grandson Matthew Thomas Small.
She is survived by: her children, Lee Augustus Small, Jr. (Mary Ange) of Edenton, Shadrack Felton Small, IV (Susette) of Rockwell and Becky Small Rominger (Andy) of Newland; her grandchildren, Tiffany Leanne Moon (Ben) of Newland, Andrew James Rominger (Lydia) of Jakarta, Indonesia, Jamey Lee Small of Rockwell and Brittany Marie Ridenhour (Kaleb) of Rockwell; and her great grandchildren, Kaleb, Landon Liner of Newland, Jude, Amos, Asa Rominger of Jakarta and Destry Lee Ridenhour of Rockwell.
