She was predeceased by: her parents, John Southall Lawrence, Jr. and Elizabeth Grant Lawrence; and her great grandchild Jonah Davenport. She is survived by: her children, Georgia Walters (John Toner) of Savannah, GA and Grant Alexander Davenport of West Union, SC; her grandchildren, Courtland, Shadow of Georgia, Hunter of Ohio, Alex (Heather), Megan and Carlee Joe of Maryland; and her great grandchild Conley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Betsy was an avid lover of the ocean, and all creatures within it, so the family asks that in lieu of flowers or balloons (which are deadly to sea life), contributions in her memory may be made to the Caretta Research Project (protecting Georgia's Sea Turtles), at the Savannah Science Museum, Inc., P.O.
